Andersen's Fairy Tales

This is a book with some of the most famous fairy tales written by Hans Christian Andersen. Have you heard something about "The Snow Queen", "Thumbelina", "The little Match girl" or "The Ugly Duckling"? Well, if you like reading, you will probably enjoy them. From the book, choose a story you like, read it and write why people shoudn't miss it. Write a brief summary about it and don't forget to write the title of the story you chose.

The Emperor's New Clothes

This short story was written by a famous Danish writer known as Hans Christian Andersen. Did you know that he could have been an illegitimate son of King Frederick VI? Did you also know that he worked as a tailor, singer, and actor before writing his children's stories? Can you mention some of his famous short stories? If don't, be sure to read his biography before you watch the video. Then, write a comment about the story. What do you think about the emperor? What do you think about the boy?

Watch the following fable and answer the questions: 1) Where did the crane and the fox live? 2) What did the fox tell the crane one day he went over her house? 3)How did the crane dress for that occasion? 4) What did the fox prepare for dinner? 5) Why wasn't the crane able to eat? 6)Why did the crane invite the fox to dine in her house? 7) How was the meal served in the crane's house? 8) What did the fox realize at the end and how did it feel?
